Top gardens to visit across in Guernsey

Guernsey, an island which is temperate, and close to France in the English channel. It is part of the UK and is ruled under UK law. The temperate weather however is incredibly appealing to Brits who are understandably obsessed with their weather.

Due to the temperate weather, the plant life is very different to that of mainland England and as such there are many beautiful gardens on the island. One of the most popular is the Candie Gardens in St Peter Port (which is the capital of Guernsey). Candie gardens is a 19th century garden which is popular with locals and visitors alike. There is plenty to do there including taking in the stunning views over the harbour and across to the nearby islands. Entry is free and also on site is a cafe, library and museum – thus providing plenty of activities to kill a few hours in a beautiful setting.

But what if you don’t want to explore these on your own? Well search online for “Guernsey dating site” or “dating sites in Guernsey” and look to make some new connections who have similar interests as yourself.

Another great place to visit is the Wild Subtropical Garden in St Martins. The sculpture park and trail is stunning, although not entirely suitable for guests with mobility needs. The gardens are beautiful all year around although they peak in spring and summer, and whenever you go, you should combine the visit with a trip to the tea rooms and have a bit to eat.

The Victorian Walled Kitchen Gardens in Castel are a personal highlight. Full of history and beautiful plants, this historic garden is being restored by volunteers who are friendly and welcoming. They also run and stock the small garden shop where you can get some wonderful reminders of your visit. You can even buy some of the plants that you will see there,

Not sure about gardens for a date location? Well try more generic dating sites and search for people with similar interests as you. Here though are my top reasons to consider going on a date at a garden!

  1. At a garden, you can walk around and chat at the same time. There will be plenty to see and look at and therefore prevent any awkward silences. It’s a perfect alternative to the usual date where you are sat in a bar or restaurant just staring at each other trying to think of things to say.
  2. If you get tired there are usually tea rooms or a cafe or restaurant where you can sit and have a drink or a snack should you want to break up the time or have a rest from the walking.
  3. Fresh air has so many benefits for your body, from being good for your lungs and your digestion, all the way through to your mood and your mind, and therefore it is a great asset to have on a date when you want to be sharp and clear minded as well as happy of course!
