Fake Grass – a review

I had spent 12 years living in a ground floor flat. I now have a 3 bedroom detached house with front and rear garden. Much as I was prepared to give painting a go, I was at a loss as to what to do with the garden. The front lawn was on a massive incline so mowing it would be very tricky, and the back was just a mess. The grass wasn’t too long, but it was not in good condition and the garden just wasn’t an appealing space to be.

My sister had fake grass put in at her home as she has a dog and a small child. She didn’t want mud or mess, nor having to worry about mowing it. Whilst I hadn’t originally budgeted for this, after some investigation I decided to go ahead. I had a variety of quotes but went with the company that my sister used as she was very happy.

In all it took just under two working days for them to sort out my gardens. There is far more invovled that I ever imagined – digging out the grass, preparing the ground, laying sand. The front involved building a retainer wall and back filling it as well in order to get it much flatter.

I think you can see that it is a million times better. I don’t have to worry about mowing, and I also don’t have to worry about trawling mud in to the house. It will look beautiful all year round and won’t die or get overgrown. Some people think that fake grass is the lazy option, but actually it’s more than that. It’s convenience. As mentioned, I never had a garden before, so I want one that will be lovely all year round and I am absolutely delighted. I can’t wait to have picnics and parties out there.
